Taking God's Name in Vain

In memory of Leo Ramos
Biblical prophecy states in 1 Peter 4:17, "Judgment must begin at the house of God."

Most Christians are familiar with end times prophecies wherein judgment is coming upon the world via the Apocalypse, but many do not realize that God will judge FIRST those who take His name in vain.

“Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Deuteronomy 5:11

Taking God's name in vain is calling oneself a Christian when one is not a genuine believer in Jesus Christ.  Claiming to be a Christian when the heart has no faith in Jesus Christ, is claiming to be a Christian in vain.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”  2 Corinthians 13:5

Our Greatest Fear

In memory of Leo Ramos
When we see our reflections in mirrors, when we see this world, the sun, moon, planets, stars, and beyond throughout the infinite universe, and conclude, "There is no God," we are fools.

"The fool has said in his heart, there is no God." Psalm 53:1

The Bible declares that all of creation, from the depths of the oceans to the vastness of outer space, - everywhere - is God's evidence to us that He exist! But, even if we do believe in God, we do not get praised. "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." James 2:19

The question is, "Do I fear God?"

We naturally fear is death. The Bible says this is so. We learn to hide this fear, deny it, mask it; yet, our subconscious knows we fear death. Riches, fame, and debaucery can never drown out our fear of death.

When we humbly choose to fear God more than we fear death, and receive His Word by faith, God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Why? Because God LOVES us!

"... that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." Hebrews 2:14b-15

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Hebrews 10:31

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." Proverbs 9:10

The BEST Robe!

In memory of Leo Ramos

If you've never heard the story of the prodigal son, you may be surprised at how much this man's father loved him!

"A certain man had two sons:🧔🤴🤴
And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.💰💰💵💵
And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.🎲🥂
And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 🌽🐷
And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.👤
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!🤕
I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.😍🏃‍♂️
And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:👘💍👞
And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry."

Luke 15:11-24

They had a huge celebration and the younger son got super jealous and angry. Find a Bible and read on!

2/3 Gospel?

In memory of Leo Ramos
Gospel means GOOD NEWS. Many think they've heared it, but have only heard 2/3 of the gospel. Once a year, maybe, they hear the other third. Sadly, a lot of Christians do not share the whole gospel: "How that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures." ~I Corinthians 15:1

YES, JESUS CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD.

I was listening to a preacher the other day and he twice said, "Jesus came, and died, and he's coming again!" with great enthusiasm. Well, that's NOT the gospel. He made no reference to the Resurrection. None. That's not good news. Rising from the dead, now, that's GOOD NEWS!

Imagine how exciting the resurrection is when you know it's true! God kept His Old Testament prophecies (PROMISES) to redeem mankind from sin (aka death) by sending His Son Jesus Christ to die in our place. Why? Because God loves us. He rose Jesus from the dead to prove Jesus is Lord and we are 100% forgiven, forever.

The whole gospel was preached by the disciples in Acts to the very men that crucified Jesus Christ. Peter said to them, "I know that through ignorance ye did it. . . Unto you first God, having raised up His Son Jesus sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities." (Acts 3:17&26) WHAT?! Yes, Peter in essence said, "I know you didn't realize what you were doing when you crucified the Son of God. The Lord allowed you to do this in your unbelief because prophecy needed to be fulfilled, so that God could save you from your sins." God offered forgiveness for the worst transgression they ever committed because of unbelief, the murder of Jesus Christ. That's a powerful message of GOOD NEWS! Some believed the gospel; some didn't.

And it's been that way for over 2,000 years. All three parts of the gospel are prophesied in numerous places in the Old Testament: "the death, burial, and resurrection of the Messiah" - Jesus Christ fulfilled them all. That's Good News! Jesus is ALIVE!

It's so simple to receive the gospel - BELIEVE.

And yes, of course to the unbeliever the gospel is totally absurd, totally insane; but we're talking about God here, GOD.

"Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?" ~Acts 26:8.

So, if you're not hearing this amazing part of the gospel, the resurrection, then you're only hearing two-thirds of it. And we know what percentage 2/3 is...

Gravity and the Soul

In memory of Leo Ramos
What if, our soul is subject to gravity!

Right now our soul dwells in our body on solid ground, but what happens to our soul when we die? Does our soul just naturally sink down, down, down to the center of the Earth where there is molten lava -the revolving bottomless pit of fire and brimstone (sulfur)?

Who else ever came back from the dead to tell us about life after death other than Jesus Christ? Only He.

Thank God for His love and tender mercy and for His Holy Spirit that unites with our spirit.

Even IF our soul is subject to gravity, God's Spirit is not. Jesus PROMISES to not let us down (no pun intended) when we die.

"Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." ~Isaiah 41:10-13

WORDS HAVE POWER!

In memory of Leo Ramos
Words have power because they CREATE. Our spoken words create visions, dreams, joy, sorrow, pride, shame, fear, boldness, love, hate, war, peace, doubt, faith, life, death.

I’m trying to think of the most powerful word in the universe. Is it “God”? He is our CREATOR. Some say, yes because “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…All things were made by him…and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1). Scripture testifies that the Word is God, even if one does not believe in Jesus, the word “God” may still be the most powerful word to that person.

To some, the most powerful word is “DEATH” because they’ve concluded that there is no God, that death is the end of all other powers. But to a believer in God, whether a believer that Jesus is Lord (God) or not, “God” is the most powerful word because God cannot die….that even if God were to chose to experience death, God would rise from the dead to prove that death is not the most powerful word… hmmm.

That is exactly what the “WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us” DID! Jesus rose from the dead! Which brings me to a word that I believe is the most powerful word coming out of the mouth of the most powerful WORD: “LIVE.” (Ezekiel 16:6), and because God is speaking, “LIVE”, the implication is to “LIVE FOREVER.”

God Lives! <—the two most powerful words in the universe!

Tune in to TRUTH

This fork-in-the-road sign looks like an upsidedown tuning fork pointed downward from the sky. Spiritually speaking, God's TRUTH is from heaven above. Truth resonates at a higher frequency than any lie. Truth is THE highest frequency in the whole universe. When we tune in to Truth, lies have an awful hollow sound. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man cometheth unto the Father but by me. . . . He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."* Not everyone hears Jesus or believes in Him, but I do. I have never found a higher frequency than God's Word.
