Biblical prophecy states in 1 Peter 4:17, "Judgment must begin at the house of God." Most Christians are familiar with end times prophecies wherein judgment is coming upon the world via the Apocalypse, but many do not realize that God will judge FIRST those who take His name in vain.
“Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Deuteronomy 5:11
Taking God's name in vain is calling oneself a Christian when one is not a genuine believer in Jesus Christ. Claiming to be a Christian when the heart has no faith in Jesus Christ, is claiming to be a Christian in vain.
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2 Corinthians 13:5
